OPPOSITES ATTRACT.  333 King East is one of those projects that deeply impacts a neighbourhood from start to finish. Not only did our team add 100,000 sf of premier office space on top of an existing, tenanted, fully-operational office building, but we also transformed a printing centre into 80,000 sf of retail on the ground floor.  The retail leasing team pursued an aggressive schedule, searching for the right tenants to comprise unique retail space fronting on both King and Front Streets. The goal was to attract retailers that would not only add to the immediate King East neighbourhood (known for unique design and furniture retailers), but also service the 2,500 office office tenants and students that would soon move in to the newly renovated mixed-use building.

As a result of the clear and single-minded approach of the retail team, ten units of ground floor retail were successfully leased in a manner of months. Since then, unique local retailers such as Rooster Cafe have thrived alongside national banks and grocers. In order to ensure the long-term success of these tenants, First Gulf’s property management team has been hands-on since the day we turned over the keys, ensuring security, parking, utility monitoring, telecommunication, and full building operations are running smoothly.
