On July 19th, the stunning 17th floor reception area of The Globe and Mail Centre provided the setting to formally introduce one of Toronto’s newest downtown office developments, The Shift, located at 25 Ontario Street.
With Toronto’s top brokers in attendance, guests were treated to breathtaking views of Toronto’s downtown skyline, waterfront and the future site of First Gulf’s newest office development. Speeches from First Gulf CEO David Gerofsky and Colliers Senior Vice President David Moretti, provided inspiration, aspiration and most importantly, information about this exciting new project.
The Shift follows the success of The Globe and Mail Centre’s recent completion at 351 King Street East, which is home to The Globe and Mail, Yellow Media, Loyalty One, Weber Shandwick and Achmea. It will also be a welcome addition to the neighbourhood where First Gulf’s well-established 333 King Street East is located and home to Coca-Cola’s Canadian Headquarters, Scotiabank Digital Factory and George Brown College. The development of The Shift continues momentum and interest within the area while creating even more exciting opportunities in downtown Toronto’s thriving east end.
The Shift is a 24-storey, 460,000-square foot, Class A office building with sustainability, accessibility and functionality as core elements of its design. Like all of First Gulf’s new developments, the building will target a minimum of LEED® Gold certification and will be designed to achieve WELL Certification. It will feature SMART building technology, allowing for more efficient building systems, tenant comfort and control. The Shift’s location provides fast access to popular city destinations like St. Lawrence Market, The Distillery District, Sugar Beach, and plenty of value-added and convenient area amenities. Enhanced accessibility with exclusive shuttle service to Union Station and proximity to TTC routes and stations make getting to and from The Shift fast and easy. As the neighbourhood continues to grow, The Shift will stand tall as an icon of Toronto’s downtown east district.
The Shift is scheduled for delivery early 2021.
