AN INSIDE JOB. Our team has grown accustomed to filling many roles on a project, but we’re also fully prepared to take a step back if it involves a plan better suited to the project. The 190,000 sf manufacturing plant for Trench (part of the Siemens family) in Pickering is an excellent example of this approach. Once Siemens was certain that this location would work for them, our team successfully severed-off the piece of land required, and brokered the deal between Siemens and the new developer. As part of our efforts, the new developer agreed to champion the leasing process, while our team focused on performing third-party construction.

As third-party contractors on this project, First Gulf truly went above and beyond to ensure this would be the perfect home for the unique needs of the tenants. A unique aspect of the design and construction process was the four separate, 60-foot high test labs, which had to be fully enclosed and grounded. Meanwhile, we ensured that the office portion of the building remained on-track to meet LEED^® Commercial Interior standards. At the end of the day, the fast-tracked, nine-month construction project was delivered on time and on budget.
