The weather may be cold, but we still think January is the perfect time to start something new. Take, for example, 1855 Bloor Street – a four-storey rental residential development which will add another 80 apartments to an existing site in Mississauga.
1855 Bloor Street is located on a main bus line in the city of Mississauga, and is an infill-development intended for rental end-users. Not your typical rental building, this low rise residential development will also include a separate amenity building, complete with fitness and party room facilities.
As the design-builder for this residential development, First Gulf construction has worked with the owner, Timbercreek, as well as the design team, in order to find the best solutions for the development throughout the development and planning phase. Implementing Lean construction practices, the entire building will be pre-cast (i.e., set in a factory and brought to site). By utilizing these methods, the only construction work performed on site will be poured concrete for the foundation and the footings.
